Contino is a historic Rioja estate established in 1973 in Rioja Alavesa, with a strong focus on estate grown wines and individual vineyard expression. The winery was created around a single property and is widely associated with the château style approach in Rioja, where vineyards, winemaking and ageing are centred around one estate.

The estate is located near the River Ebro, where its vineyards benefit from a combination of altitude, varied soils and a distinctive local climate. Contino produces wines from traditional Rioja varieties, with particular emphasis on Tempranillo alongside Graciano, Mazuelo, Garnacha and Viura.

Over the years, Contino has built a reputation for producing structured, elegant Rioja wines that reflect both the character of the estate and the identity of Rioja Alavesa. Its portfolio includes Reserva, single vineyard wines and white Rioja, all shaped by a strong connection to place, vineyard selection and careful ageing.
