Nestled in the historic village of Porrera in DOQ Priorat, Merum Priorati is dedicated to expressing the dramatic landscape and distinctive terroir of one of Spain’s most celebrated wine regions. The winery works exclusively with its own mountain vineyards across three estates — Les Foreses, Les Escomelles and La Plana Marjot — where vines grow on steep costers and terraces dominated by Priorat’s signature llicorella slate soils. These challenging, low-yielding sites provide ideal conditions for traditional varieties such as Garnacha and Cariñena, producing wines with concentration, structure and a strong sense of place.

Since 2013, Merum Priorati has been part of Pere Ventura Family Wine Estates, bringing the group’s family-owned winemaking philosophy and commitment to terroir to Priorat. Each vineyard parcel is carefully managed according to its elevation, orientation and geological character, including distinctive Carboniferous and Devonian slate formations. This meticulous approach allows Merum Priorati to capture the individuality of its vineyards, crafting wines that combine Priorat’s natural intensity and depth with freshness, elegance and minerality.
