History of the Wine
The wine originates from Clos des Goisses, Philipponnat's historic 5.83-hectare walled vineyard on the steep south-facing slope of Mareuil-sur-Ay. The site became the house's landmark parcel wine and was among Champagne's earliest examples of parcel-specific harvesting and vinification. That site-specific background is central to the wine's identity.
