Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Champagne 2013

Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Champagne France Sparkling Wine is from Mareuil-Sur-Ay, made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It is well suited for celebrations, aperitifs and entertaining and pairs well with seafood, fried appetisers and light canapés.

History of the Wine
The wine originates from Clos des Goisses, Philipponnat's historic 5.83-hectare walled vineyard on the steep south-facing slope of Mareuil-sur-Ay. The site became the house's landmark parcel wine and was among Champagne's earliest examples of parcel-specific harvesting and vinification. That site-specific background is central to the wine's identity.

Guidelines
Serve well chilled at around 6–8°C to preserve freshness, balance and fine bubbles.
Use a tulip-shaped sparkling-wine glass and pour gently to retain the mousse and aromatic character.
For an older vintage, serve carefully and allow the wine to develop naturally in the glass rather than over-chilling it.
