Aperture Del Rio 2017 is a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the steep, chalky-volcanic hillsides of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma — a powerful, terroir-driven wine with depth and structure.
Pours deep ruby-purple. On the nose: cassis and dark blue fruits, graphite and earthy herbs, with tapenade-like savory notes and a floral undertone. On the palate: full-bodied, dense and layered — blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, dark chocolate and a hint of cocoa or espresso, firm but refined tannins, subtle mineral and graphite tones, and a long, fresh, mineral-tinged finish.
