Domenico Clerico began producing wine in 1979 after taking over his father's small 2-hectare vineyard three years earlier. Known as one of the progressive “Barolo Boys", Domenico sought out the best undiscovered plots in Barolo, thus pioneering the idea of single cru wines In addition to his devotion to single cru vineyards, Domenico championed what is considered a modern style of Barolo, using new burgundy barrels and later barriques to age the wines. Today, Domenico Clerico is one of the most respected names in all Barolo, and his wines are renowned for both winemaking of the highest quality and for their exceptional expression of terroir.
