Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a historic, 13.7-hectare family estate nestled in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, owned by the de Nicolay family since 1834, with direct lineage to Moët et Chandon.Under siblings Claude and François de Nicolay, the domaine has championed organic viticulture since 1998 and full biodynamic certification since 2005 (Demeter-certified in 2011), combining ancestral techniques like horse-tilling with modern, non-interventionist cellar practices, including whole-cluster ferments, minimal sulphites, and aging in neutral oak or cement to preserve terroir purity.
