Matteo Correggia Roche d'Ampsej Roero Riserva DOCG 2017

The wines of Roero have always lived in the shadow of Barolo, but the Correggia winery is a
beacon of light. It is acknowledged as not only the best producer in the area, but also as one of
the very best northern Italian wineries. Wines like the single-vineyard, Val dei Preti and Rocche
d'Ampsej (Nebbiolo) are now as sought after as some of the more highly prized Barolo and
Barbaresco, and his entry level nebbiolo (Roero) and Arneis are seriously lovely and inexpensive
introductions to their respective varieties.
Known by his peers as “The Comet of Roero”, the late Matteo Correggia is regarded as the
benchmark wine producer for the Roero region which lies just north of Barolo.

An intense ruby ​​red wine with garnet reflections. To the nose it releases slight floral aromas of rose and cyclamen, accompanied by pleasantly fruity and spicy notes. The taste is soft and voluminous, supported by a thick tannic texture and a pulpy and persistent consistency.
